 The
official Polish currency is zloty polski - zl (PLN). One zloty
consists of 100 groszes. About six years ago the currency reform
was carried out in Poland: its aim was to reduce the number of "zeros".
As a result, the former 10,000 zl were replaced with 1 zl (one
new Polish zloty). Since many people have found it quite complicated
to get accustomed to the new way of counting money, you may sometimes
hear of a car which costs "200 mln zlotys", when, of
course, 20,000 new zlotys is meant.
