  Czestochowa Hotels

Czestochowa is one of the most enigmatic and mysterious cities in all of Poland. Located in the southern part of the country by the famous Warta River, Czestochowa supports a burgeoning population of almost a quarter million inhabitants. It's best known for the Jasna Gora, a monastery that houses a very religious shrine to the Virgin Mary. Each year, religious followers from all over Europe visit the Jasna Gora to view the Black Madonna painting there.

If you're looking for accommodations in Czestochowa, you have a number of options. One great place to stay is the Bonaparte Hotel, a lodge that is actually a renovated castle. This is slightly outside the city center--approximately five kilometers away from the monastery--but offers exemplary vistas of the surrounding forest and lakes.

The Bonaparte Hotel offers 44 rooms, each complete with cable TV, a minibar, radio, and a room safe. You get great room service and a guarded parking lot. The hotel offers three separate conference rooms--the largest of which can hold more than 100 people. Best of all, the downstairs restaurant and coffee shop is renowned throughout the city for offering cheap drinks and great local food.

While you're in Czestochowa, you may also want to check out Olstyn, which is about a dozen miles away. Olsztyn features gorgeous medieval castle ruins as well as lots of local culture.
